THE RANDONNEURS KICK OFF THE FESTIVAL

Today is finally the day! The 2 october has arrived, this morning, starting from 9.00, the Randonneurs have met on Lungolago Cesare Battisti in Desenzano d/G and kicked off the Festival with a staggered start!
The lite rain hasn’t stopped the participants from this exciting ride around Garda Lake, first appointment of this Colnago Cycling Festival 2020 special edition!
According to tradition, the Randonnée has welcomed athletes from different countries, which this moring have started a ride ready to live strong emotions, cycling along two beautiful routes: the long one of about 205km, with a difference in height of 2100m, intead, the short one was 145km with a difference in height of about 520m, modeled aroung the bigger and more beautiful lake in Italy. In this race, the stopwatch is no longer important, while the athletes can enjoy their bike ride looking at marvellous landscapes and romantic scenaries.
Right before the start, the Councillor for Tourism of Desenzano del Garda, Francesca Cerini, has warmly welcomed all the all presents and thanked the intrepid randonneurs, explaining how this event can get together the cycling lovers of the whole world, giving this competiotion a rich sense of internationality.
The municipalities crossed by the Randonnée and the Granfondo of 4 October are so many that we would like to express a special thanks to the them and institutions for the collaboration and constant support which, together with that of the over a thousand volunteers, are the backbone of this Festival.
Their commitment and perseverance behind the scenes make our Festival a special occasion to meet and celebrate together the love for sport and a sustainable life, concepts that Colnago CF has wanted to convey during the event for years.
At the arrival of the Randonnée the emotions do not end! There is a lot to experience on October 2-3-4 in Desenzano del Garda, not only sporting events, but also a rich program of shows designed for young and old!
The Expo Area has opened this moring at 10.00! Here, the sector brands that sponsor the Festival have set up stands that can be visited throughout the weekend, displaying news and promotions created ad hoc for the participants. One of the news of this year is the Colnago booth, where the yellow vest of the winner of the Tour de France Tadej Pogačar is exhibited.
A visit to the Expo Area an the city is just the first taste of whatyou will find at this exciting weekend!
Another important collaboration came, as every year, from the activities of the center of Desenzano del Garda, which set up their themed shop windows, with Colnago bicycles as protagonists. The shop windows awards ceremony will take place on Sunday 4 October at 2.00 pm.
After today, we wait for you tomorrow afternoon at 2.00 pm for the Junior Bike of Desenzano del Garda, where our little cyclists will be able to show their talent in a skill tests. At the same time, the athletes of the Sunday Granfondo will be able to collect their race numbers and the race pack not far from there, at Palazzo Todeschini.
The day will finish with the show organized by the Corona Events group, which will keep us glued to the sky between the lights and the magical choreography of their Steam Dance. The event will take place on Lungolago Cesare Battisti at 9.00 pm on Saturday evening.
