Mission accomplished for 2015 Colnago Cycling Festival. The three days of bike celebration brought in Desenzano del Garda (BS) nearly 10.000 people in this long weekend dedicated to cyclists.
Today in 3.000 have conquered Garda Lake. Colnago Granfondo has seen among its protagonists cyclists of all ages coming from 20 different countries. It took more then 10′ to let them start, everybody was smiling, happy to be here.
To note the presence of many former professional riders deeply tied to Colnago brand, such as the two times Olympic Champion Paola Pezzo, Paolo Rosola, Paolo Savoldelli, Marco Saligari, Andrea Tonti and Marzio Bruseghin. In the front-line there were also male and female athletes riding for Team Rusvelo, “heroic” people with vintage bikes and clothing, handbike riders and the Italian National Transplant Association who brought his message of hope.
Three new tracks have been covered for the occasion: 159 km and 2044 meters in altitude for the queen race, the Gran Fondo; 110 km and 1384 meters in altitude for the medium lenght and 77 kilometers and 940 meters for the short route. The breathtaking scenery offered by the lake and the new climbs inland proposals have captivated cyclists tripped since early morning.
«You are so many, you are so beautiful, you are so colorful: thanks for making our city even more fascinating. Today, thanks to the passion for two wheels friendship and solidarity have won. I would like to thank once again Mr. Colnago for the added value that is giving to our community» began Rosa Leso, Mayor of Desenzano del Garda.
«Colnago Cycling Festival is an event we really care. Its touristic result and the international value is visible to all. The value of this event is growing thanks to Cavalier Colnago, to the many people who have worked in the background and thanks to our lake that always helps us a lot» continued the Councillor for Economic Development Valentino Righetti.
«We lived the perfect day. I spoke with people from Brazil, South Africa, Malaysia, Japan… I know that many of them have reached Desenzano since last Thursday and will take advantage of the Marathon to spend a few days of vacation in this area. Seeing so many bike makes me really happy. See you in a year, it will be another bike party not to be missed» concluded an emotional Ernesto Colnago, patron of the event.
