A sunny day welcomed last week in Desenzano del Garda Bike Channel crew that recorded Granfondo Colnago reconnaissance.
Paolo Savoldelli, technique voice of the Sky thematic channel, rode together with Alessandro Colnago, Colnago marketing manager and nephew of the great bikes developer Ernesto, noting along the way the key points of the event that will be held on May 17th inside the Colnago Cycling Festival.
2015 tracks, as announced, have been completely redesigned compared to previous years to give participants a show even more irresistible and make them known unpublished climbs. 159 km and 2044 meters in altitude for the Granfondo; 110 km and 1384 meters in altitude for the Medium lenght and 77 kilometers and 940 meters for the short route.
«The marathon has changed completely, the organizers have made a nice makeover with the addition of the climbs of San Michele, Coste and Cima San Gallo» said Savoldelli, professional rider from 1996 to 2008 and Giro d’Italia winner in 2002 and 2005. «I like the longer track because it is more selective and since the last climb there are less kilometers to the finish line than in the past. The slopes are not impossible and the mileage is perfect for those who want to do a real race of 4.30-5 hours. A tip? Make use of the 3 refreshment points present along the route, especially if it will be a hot day it will be very important to rehydrate and eat properly. Evaluate your condition and try to stay in a group, who will be left alone too soon will be cut out from the challenge for the first positions. The short and medium paths are perfect for cyclists less trained. The beauty of Colnago Cycling Festival is that it is accessible to all. The scenarios are as usual breathtaking, the panoramic lake view offered from San Michele is truly unique».
Alessandro Colnago invites all cyclists not to miss the appointment: «The long track is not for everyone because it is really challenging. It depends on the spirit with which you want to deal with, whether aggressive or as an adventure. I will attend the Medio Fondo. I do not have the legs to dispute the longer track, but it has been interesting to test the three new climbs. Cycling is a real family passion for me, I ride my bike almost every day, I pedal thirty miles at lunch time. There is no better way to improve our products then to try them personally. And there is no better place of Garda Lake area to ride and spend a few days with the family. Colnago Cycling Festival will be a three-day bike festival, aimed at people of all ages and all tastes. The invitation is relaunched by Valentino Righetti, Desenzano del Garda Councillor for Economic Development, pleased by the success that the new tracks are obtaining: «The decision to draw a new route, which will cross the length and breadth of Brescia area, and the work done in the past winter are paying off. I am very happy because we increased the number of participants to the event and the new route is appreciated by the most competent professionals in cycling movement».
