Over 4,000 registered participants and 12,000 people to celebrate the event that combined cycling and the promotion of the territory! Three-day festival dedicated to two wheels and outdoor life.
The 17th edition of the Colnago Cycling Festival ended with the Granfondo Colnago, after three days of sports, initiatives for fans and families, amid smiles, the enthusiasm of being together again a year later and the great participation of an entire territory.
More than 4,000 registrants from 21 nations around the world participated in a sporting event of excellence that, in addition to being a reference point for athletes, is able to involve parents, children, families and spectators in a great celebration, bringing them closer to the core values of our event: sport, solidarity and promotion of the territory.
At 7:30 a.m, the athletes of the Granfondo Colnago braved the rain, making the Garda Sunday even more epic.
Welcoming the athletes, present at the traditional toast were Vice Mayor Stefano Medioli, Sports Councillor Pietro Avanzi, Councillor Giovita Girelli, Councillor Alessandro Boccafolio, Visit Desenzano President Emanuele Bonotto and Colnago Operations Director Luca Donini.
An unusual but spectacular start to the 17th Granfondo Colnago! The trail of the starters enlivened the center of Desenzano for a full 10 minutes from the official start!
Once out of Desenzano del Garda, the participants pedaled together to Gardone Riviera where the group divided according to the chosen route: cyclists on the medium route (110km) and the new “Le Bellezze di D’Annunzio” (40km) cycling route climbed up to the Vittoriale degli Italiani while the daredevil cyclists on the long route (138km) continued straight ahead.
The Colnago Cycling Festival with its routes involves a vast territory: 71 municipalities, 4 provinces and 3 regions.
Meanwhile, in Desenzano del Garda, for the third consecutive day, our sponsors colored the streets of the center: industry brands such as X-Bionic, Ekoi, Tomasi Auto, Renting and +Watt, displayed their products and news related to the world of quality cycling. For the realization of the event a heartfelt thanks goes to them, as they have been beside the c.o. for years supporting the event.
The Colnago Cycling Festival family never fails, despite the bad weather: every year the success of the event exceeds all expectations. A success from the first to the last day and this is only thanks to the teamwork that confirms its efficiency: the union between institutions, private entities and associations. A team that has a common goal: to realize a fun, safe and high-quality event.
